PokéBase - Pokémon Q&A

Okay so I’m new to the Masuda method and understand the gist of the concept as a whole but rather I just have a question regarding the day-care deposited Pokémon themselves. I want to get a shiny Tyrunt and thus I have a Japanese Tyrantrum (Monster Egg group) and an ordinary in-game generated Aggron (also from the Monster Egg group). I guess the real question is will I get the offspring of Tyrantrum (Tyrunt) or Aggron (Aron).

The offspring will be the lowest-stage evolution of the female Pokémon or non-Ditto Pokémon. If your Tyrantrum is female, you can go ahead and start breeding with Tyrantrum and Aggron. If your Tyrantrum is male, then you have to get a Ditto and breed it with that. Masuda Method will work with both cases (as long as your Ditto isn’t also Japanese, if you use one).
