So, I beat Norman in Alpha Sapphire I was told to go onto Route 118. I went there and realized that I needed a Pokémon who knew or could learn Surf. Since I didn’t have the Old Rod or any other Rod, I went to Mr. Briney’s Cottage and he wasn’t there. Afterwards, I spent 20 minutes tracking him down not to find him. The only way I can get to Dewford, as far as I know, to get the Old Rod is by Mr. Briney’s considering my situation. Since he disappears completely after defeating Norman, am I now soft-locked and have to start a whole new save?
