Can Max Raid Battles break shiny chains?

If I have a high chain going, and I catch a Pokemon from a raid, will my chain break?

Yes! I wondered this myself and tested it out a few times. Even though it is a special kind of battle, defeating/catching the Dynamax Pokémon counts against your chain.

I can’t speak for a failed raid, however.
