Is it possible to unlock my battle team in the official competition going on now?

I want to pull Pokemon off my team before the competition ends and play the main story. I only signed up to participate in a few battles to get the BP you get from participating.

I understand in Sun and Moon you could "cancel participation" in the menu. Is this possible in Sw/Sh? Would changing the clock on my switch work?

Ask the tournament director if you are even allowed to say that. It all depends on them

I know this is very late but there are still official competitions going on.

I'm sad to say that your team is locked in an official competition. You cannot put the Pokemon in your party until the competition is over.
