Fizz basically answered the question already, so I'm going to take it off the unanswered list.
You only need to put Destiny Knot on one parent. Adding it to a second parent doesn't change anything. Using two will entirely offset the effect.
You would preferably need to give the knot to something with at least four perfect IVs and it will randomly distribute five of the IVs between both parents to the offspring.
