Hey all
I have a Modest Typhlosion with the following moves:
- Flamethrower
- Sunny Day
- Solarbeam
- Swift (To be replaced)

I heard some berry could be good but I really cannot remember which one.

Thanks everyone!

Why are you using Typhlosion and not Infernape?
In the chat room, he said he was playing HG/SS
I'm going to assume this is for in-game and not competitive use. Feel free to change the title if that isn't the case.
If this is for the Battle Frontier, why are you not using Houndoom?
Oh is Houndoom better than Typhlosion? Even in-game? I love dark Pokemon...
I know Houndoom is better in 6v6 because of nasty plot and dark pulse, but I don't know whether that's also true in the Battle Frontier's 3v3 battles. If you decide to use Houndoom, then I recommend this set.
Houndoom @ life orb
Ability: flash fire
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid nature
- nasty plot
- flamethrower
- dark pulse
- taunt

I would say Life Orb
Typholosion itself isn't very bulky, but it can tank at least one or two hits, I decided not to say Choice Specs because you would want to first set up Sunny Day to boost your fire type moves and straight away charge up Solar Beam, your attacks would be even stronger with Life Orb, example, the combination of Flamethrower+STAB+Blaze+Sun Boost+Life Orb's result is:
252 SpA Life Orb Typhlosion Solar Beam vs. 248 HP / 36 SpD Vaporeon: 302-356 (65.2 - 76.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
How much the oppoment does:
0 SpA Vaporeon Surf vs. 0 HP / 36 SpD Typhlosion in Sun: 122-146 (41 - 49.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
Surf isn't the strongest move but it is literally only a three hit KO, also, Vaporeon has very high HP, which makes it difficult to beat.
If you are planning to make a Drought team and this is your Sunny Day Setter, then I would recommend giving it a Heat Rock instead of a Life Orb, also, the move I recommend changing Swift to would be Extrasensory or Focus Blast. Flamethrower is weaker than Fire Blast but it has lower accuracy but worth the sacrifice. If you are scared that you might miss the move, you can still use Flamethrower.
Here is the recommended set:
Typhlosion @ Heat Rock
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Fire Blast/Flamethrower
- Solar Beam
- Sunny Day
- Extrasensory/Focus Blast
Choice Specs would be better for now as you can get it earlier in-game.
I've hoped I've helped!

Lol this is in game (otherwise why swift) and ev training isn't worth it. I don't think specs is available until post game anyway. Extrasensory is an egg move. Focus blast and solar beam (normally) aren't available until much later in the game.
Choice specs is obtainable as soon as you can use surf on Lake of Rage, so it's the best held item for in-game HGSS. Life orb is a lot more difficult to get because it requires Ho-Oh.
I'll edit my answer
Hi all...
Thank you for your suggestions! I am not planning to make a drought team so no heat rock and not fond of losing HP due to life orb, sorry :(
I just found out about Power Herb, which I have... Considering this, wouldn’t be better to forget Sunny Day and have the following moveset?
Typhlosion @ Power Herb
Nature: Modest Ability: Blaze
- Flamethrower (I prefer a reliable fire move) Or even eruption?
- Solarbeam
- Focus Blast (not reliable but most people recommend this move on Typhlosion)
- Thunderpunch?

Or still keep Sunny Day and make it hold Wide Lens or even passho berry as an item:
- Sunny Day
- Solarbeam
- Focus Blast
- Eruption instead of Flamethrower
It depends. Are you using this Typhlosion to battle other people, the Battle Frontier, in-game trainers, or something else?
It is for HG in-game but also for the battle frontier in order to get stone edge and calm mind for two other Pokemon...
