Why did Competitive not trigger?

Question

So, I was in a battle, right?

I was up against a Tornadus and maybe a Nihelego, thought I’m not sure, with my Zeraora and Wigglytuff.

The Tornadus got off a Prankster Taunt, and then my Zeraora used Scary Face on Wigglytuff. My PLAN was to have a 2x SpA Wigglytuff that already had useless speed, but.... Competitve never triggered. How come?

Competitive only works if it’s an opponent that lowers your stat. It doesn’t work if an ally does.
