How to get the Johto Starters in Emerald?

I beat the game and am just wondering

To get the Johto starters in Emerald, in-game, first you must complete the entire* Hoenn region Pokedex, than speak with Professor Birch. He will comment on your achievement and allow you to pick one of the three Johto starters.

*Not entire Pokedex, just obtain all of the Hoenn Pokemon excluding Deoxys and Jirachi, or any event Pokemon if l have forgotten any.

(+) This means that you may have to trade Pokemon that can only be obtained in Ruby and Sapphire, since you can't catch all of the Hoenn region Pokemon in Emerald alone.

well here is a good method but you need the game xd gale of darkness.... that's the only point in the game xd you get the three starters at lvl5 by beating the mt. battle the 100 trainers in a row first when you're going to face battlus save before and beat him when you win chose the pokemon the check it on the pc (or in your team if you have an emty slot) if it's male restart the game and battle again until you get the female of all the 3 then trade to the emmerald version and breed that's a good method and worked at the perfection for me but you need that game i hope this help...
