Sorry if this is a dupe I can't seem to find another question like this.

In Generation II:

Sleep Talk randomly chooses one of the user's moves other than Sleep Talk itself and uses it. PP will be deducted from Sleep Talk only, which means that it can be used to execute moves that have no PP left.

In later generations:

Sleep Talk can call a move with no PP remaining, but will fail to execute it due to a lack of PP.

I meant if sleep talk was the only remaining move, your pokemon was asleep, and all your other moves had run out of pp. Then would it work or no?
Sleep Talk will be able to choose a move without PP, but it won't execute it after Generation II. Thus, it would only be able to work in Generation II.
Ah okay.
