Does overheat lower Special attack if you have white smoke?

It does when I did it on PO with Torkoal. But it says other Pokemon lowering its stats. Did I simply not notice the stat drop?

If a pokemon has a Base 140 STAB move with no downside, it can really make some noise at the OU tier, and with Groudon in Uber, it can rely on Groudon's Drought with this move, and sweep.

Yes. Abilities like white smoke and clear body don't protect you from self inflicted stat drops.
