Check your Pokedex. If you have the Japanese Pokedex entry for that Pokemon, or any other foreign language, then it probably is from a foreign cartridge. Unless you've already gotten one of that Pokemon from a foreign country, then I don't really know what you could do.

You can also check the name of the original trainer, and if they have a name that's a different language, then it's probably a foreign Pokemon.
