I've been playing National Dex Monotype lately and this has been on my mind. I've been using Bulletproof to block moves like Shadow Ball, but almost every other Kommo-o user I encountered has Soundproof. Soundproof can block other Kommo-o, sound moves, and Ditto using your Dragon moves (to some extend), but I find that Mega Altaria can take care of those just fine. Here is my moveset for context:

Kommo-o (F) @ Kommonium Z
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Clanging Scales
- Aura Sphere
- Flamethrower
- Substitute

Sorry if this question isn't allowed since it's already been asked a million times.

You'll usually want Soundproof

Even though you said that your Altaria-Mega takes care of opposing Imposters quite well, it'd force you to switch, which'll stop your sweep. Now this is something which I'd personally hate, as a stupid Imposter, getting a free chance to come in (after a kill or a slow VoltTurn or w/e), is forcing a switch. Meh. Bulletproof, even though pretty nice, is conditional (and so is Soundproof, but you'll want some answers to Ditto), and it prevents your sweep against Imposters.
Even Kommo-O's Smogon Analysis states the same thing:

Soundproof is used to make Ditto and opposing Kommo-o unable to revenge kill Kommo-o with Clanging Scales.

So, you'll mostly be going for Soundproof than Bulletproof.

Hope it helped!

Ah okay, but locking Ditto into a dragon move and using Maltaeia is fun
Yeah that's pretty cool, but tbh both the abilities are conditional/situational, and Bulletproof overall has more pro's as compared to Soundproof, so yeah it's better and more used. And if you switch out the Kommo-O, it might just become deadweight, as it's checks/counters would be able to check/counter an unboosted Kommo-O better than a boosted one :3.
