Is Hazards and Roar + Copycat Riolu a niche strategy in BDSP OU?

No, go play Gen 5 OU. There are infinite ways to counter this nowadays, virtually every team will have a response. It's not good above the low ladder (at least, what remains of it) in Gen 5 OU either.

It doesn't work.

As of Gen 6 and upwards, Roar cannot be called by Copycat, meaning Copycat fails if the last move was Roar.

I went ahead and tested it out at Showdown, just be 100% sure.

Besides, it's more of a gimmick than a valid strategy, and like Fizz mentioned, I'm pretty sure serious battlers of Gen 5 are at least somewhat prepared for it.
