What are some useful strategies/tips for Path of Solitude?

I have been attempting the Path of Solitude in LoA, and my first attempt, with Decidueye, was a breeze, as my Decidueye was over lvl 80 and easily one shotted Typhlosion with Shadow Claw because of the super effective move bonus and level difference. Then I attempted Gliscor's, and I hit a roadblock. The lvl 70 Weavile kept using strong style Ice Punch to OHKO my similarly leveled Gliscor. So any tips for the Path of Solitude in general? Thanks in advance.

My solution has generally been brute force on this one. Levelling up my Pokemon, and giving them grit to boost their stats, until they're strong enough to not get instantly one shot. Then I look over the moveset and available moves at the tutor to see if there's any way to take down the opponent, whether by force or by the luck of critical hits and status effects.
