Why is my Square-One mat not working?

Question

In my secret base, I have no more spaces available. The last one went to a square-one mat, when I tried testing out the trick, it didn't work. I tried leaving and re-entering my base, but it still didn't work. The mat wasn't grey, still being blue and therefore should work. I am confused about what is going on. All my other mats are working too.

When visitors step on this mat, they'll be sent back to the entrance, but only once.

It will only work on visitors, not yourself.
