Is Murkrow a good Pokemon to use in Pokemon Crystal?

Question

I would like to use Murkrow as my flying type so it can learn Fly. However, I don't know if Murkrow is any good in-game since it would be my first time having one on my team. I also know it does not evolve, but I'mnot sure if that makes it any weaker than those that do evolve. Oh and fyi, I wouldn't have to wait until endgame to get one so that doesn't play a factor.

Why would you use Murkrow when you can use Fearow?

Murkrow isn't useless, but there are much better Flying type options available, like Fearow. It's defenses are also pretty bad.

There are better options for Flying types such as Fearow and Dark moves where limited in Gen 2 so that's another reason why I wouldn't go for Murkrow and you can get Spearow right at the start of the game or the gift Spearow you can get in Goldenrod City.

But if you really want to use Murkrow, here's a moveset for it

-Fly
-Shadow Ball
-Steel Wing
-Icy Wind
