Yes, the beta of Pokémon Gold was leaked and there was a Ditto evolution in it, it's been leaked online fully and made into a proper game of you wanna test it. I'm pretty sure it was another Metal Coat evolution that transformed into a Steel-type version of the opponent, though I could be wrong on that
