How will we know when Part 1 & Part 2 of the DLC become accessible?

Question

Part 1 is scheduled for release on Wednesday. How will I know that I can play it? Will there be a notification when we open the game on that day? Will it ask for a system update? Will the way to access Kitakami come through as a gift? Just want to know how it'll work.

This month it comes out the teal maskat 6:00 wedsday then indgo disk comes out this winter

With the Sword and Shield DLC, the game updated and upon launching it told you what to do in order to access the DLC area. Even games without the DLC must update so that they can receive via trade and fight with other players who are using DLC specific Pokémon, Abilities, Moves, etc.
I’d assume something similar would take place :P

Whenever the updates drop nothing will happen if you’re in game. To receive the update you instead need to go to your switch’s Home Screen, close Pokemon Scarlet/Violet and when you go to re open it there will be a pop up asking you if you want to update your game. If you update the game you will be able to access all the new Pokemon they have added and the DLC if you have paid for it.

If it’s past the time when the update should come out just keep closing and reopening your game till the pop up saying you can update your game appears. If it’s past the time when the update should come out and your game isn’t updating just wait a bit because updates often come out a few minutes after they are supposed to come out.

Note While this answer is for Scarlet/Violet specifically this answer also goes for any other update/dlc for any Pokemon game on switch.

I think this question was asking about how to know when you can go to the DLC areas in game, not how to update your game to receive the DLC.

So far, for part 1 someone will call you and then you wait for the cutscenes to roll and finally Kitakami is accessible.
