I haven't played the DLC yet but I have over 500 shinies from base game alone. Are there more storage boxes?

Almost for sure no, since they didn’t in Sword/Shield and they want you to get Home. Also, everything I’m reading seems to indicate this.
Well that sucks.
How does BDSP have more boxes than S/V?
if you like you can create another account on the switch console (free) and begin a playthrough of scarlet/violet. then you can use pokemon home to transfer 30 pokemon at a time (unless you pay lol) that you wouldnt like to keep in your main account. putting one pokemon in each of the 8 base boxes increases storage, as does connecting to pokemon home (iirc)

i did this to transfer my 400-strong living dex to a separate account to free ~14 boxes of storage for the new dlc.
I know about Home, I just find it kinda dumb they would add all these new Pokemon to the game and not give us more in-game storage.
No, they didn’t. However, before the release of the indigo disk, they increased it from 16 boxes to 32 boxes.
There were 32 boxes base game.

(Oh yeah I forgot I asked this question...)

I got the DLC a while ago and can confirm that the number of storage boxes (32) does not change between base game and the DLC. How disappointing...
