Does making a Pokémon faint in the Battle Frontier and the later battle facilities still reduce its friendship value?

If when a Pokémon faints, it loses friendship values. But I wonder if this principle applies to the battle facilities (ie Battle Frontier, Battle Chateau, etc) because I’ve lost count of how many times my Pokemon have fainted there.

I don't think they modify the Pokemon at all (besides occasionally giving them a ribbon), so I think the answer is no. However, I have not paid attention to any of my Pokemon's friendship while using them in a battle frontier.

I tried fainting one of my pokemon that was at max friendship lots of times in the battle frontier in pokemon emerald, and afterwards the lady in verdanturf still said it adored me so I don't think it lowers friendship. Can't say for any other games though
