Will the Pokemon it copies be shiny in battle, or will you not be able to tell until after you catch it?

by
I know from experience the Pokémon it copies won't affect its chances of being shiny, though I don't have any proof of it.
you're gonna have to wait for the cutscene I think to tell if its shiny, the pokemon it copies doesn't affect its shiny rate I think. I also think the rates like 1/64 too
I think y’all misunderstand me. If I have a Pikachu as my buddy, will a shiny Zorua appear as a Shiny Pikachu, normal Pikachu but with sparkles, or regular Pikachu
Oh. In that case, I can say that it'll appear as a regular Pikachu, regardless if the Zorua is shiny or not.

When it appears in the wild, it copies everything about your buddy's appearance, including shininess. (Funny enough there were some videos of people using their masterballs on what appeared to be wild shiny legendaries, which then turned out to be Zoruas

A better way to weed out Zoruas is having a buddy Pokemon that can't appear in the wild (like most legendaries/baby Pokemon for example).

After the cutscene, it will show if its shiny or not... if you manage to catch it.
