Are Switch Lites unable to trade with normal Switches?

I tried to trade with someone from Scarlet to Violet. I was attempting to trade locally because I don't have a NSO membership. But the trade never ended up working. Was this because I was using a Lite and trying to trade with a switch?

Was the other player also local and in your vicinity?
I don't think the type of console would affect trading of all things but I can't be bothered to look for a source.

Yes, they were in the same room as me. Idk if it's like this way for all Lites or if mine is just weird...

The Switch Lite consoles are able to trade with normal Switch consoles.

Ensure both switches are on local communication, and that the code was correct. You can also try the good old turn it off and back on again method.

Turns out I couldn't trade with my switch docked.
