Now that pokebank is gone how to transfer Pokemon?

Sorry if this has been asked but really struggling to find answers, my husband and I are replaying our old games and are transferring our old Pokemon out of our old games to the newer ones before resetting, only problem is I can’t get them transferred further than x/y, I see pokebank as an option but it’s been discontinued on the 3Ds so I have no way of transferring our Pokemon to my switch or even to sun/moon

Any and all assistance appreciated, I’m happy to buy Pokemon home which appears to be the new pokebank but I can’t get that app on the 3Ds :/

I hear it's still possible to download PokeBank if you have a modded 3DS, and servers for it are still operational as far as I know.

As far as I'm aware, you can still transfer from Bank to Home as long as you have the app downloaded on your 3DS (since the servers aren't shut down yet as mentioned by Cdijk16).

According to a Reddit comment: "you apparently can use the eShop to install Bank and Transfer if the account associated with your 3DS has ever opened those apps (essentially you can redownload them as long as you previously had them on your system)."

If you don't have Bank, I *think* you can download it by modding your system? I have no experience to say if that's true or not.

However, if you don't have Pokemon Bank on one 3DS but you have another device that does (be it your own or someone else's), you can transfer Pokemon from your cartridge to that devices Bank, and then transfer to your own Home.

If none of those are any option, I think you're unfortunately out of luck.

Steps to transfer Pokemon to Sun/Moon from X/Y
1. Install Pokemon Bank on your 3DS (this requires a modded 3DS to do if you dont already have it). Servers for Pokemon Bank are still up as of this writing. If your 3DS had Pokemon Bank installed at some point, you will be able to redownload it. Alternatively, you can buy a 3DS from someone else that has Pokemon Bank installed.
2. Use Pokemon Bank to transfer from XY to Sun/Moon.
As far as I know, there's no method to transfer Pokemon to or from any of the 3DS games without Pokemon Bank.
Steps to transfer Pokemon to Switch games from the 3DS games
1. You will need to have Pokemon Bank and Pokemon Home installed on your 3DS and Switch respectively. You will need the Pokemon Home Premium version to do this.
