I’ve played like 13 hours and no shiny and I’m wondering how long would it take to find 4000 Pokemon.

For the answerer, however you get your numbers for this calculation will be fine as long as it’s explained and logical

I managed to get 2 just playing the game, but it looks like the game loads pokemon before you can see them and can store some of the ones you miss.
You don’t have to actually see 4000 Pokémon to get a shiny, it’s just a one in 4096 chance that a Pokémon will be shiny when it spawns
This means I cant actually calculate this very well as it’s all luck based
Hope I helped
I’m aware of how probability works. I’m going to convert this answer into a comment because you didn’t answer my question. I want to know how long it would take to see 4000 Pokemon
I think this is unanswerable. LA varies in Pokemon cluster, Pokemon per cluster, diversity, spread in an area, spread per biome, etc. Quite unreasonable in my opinion to expect to find an average
I don’t care about an actual average, as long as it’s tested or a mathematical method is provided, and any method is fine. How is that unanswerable?
If someone said, this method spawns X Pokemon at a time and takes Y seconds, then the answer for 4000 is this, that’s fine
The way you asked your question leans into the idea of flying/traveling around the map and finding random shiny Pokemon, not a method that spawns Pokemon. If you're looking for how long a shiny hunting method takes to reach 4000 encounters, that's a lot simpler to figure out
You can’t fly around the map. I’m asking about Z-A. It’s in the title and tags

I don’t really know how you came to the conclusion I wanted to find the average time to find a shiny. I didn’t ask or even mention that. Just 4000 Pokemon. And I also said “however you get your numbers for this calculation is fine as long as it’s explained and logical”. I also said “I want to know how long it will take to see 4000 Pokemon” in the comments
I apologize. I thought this was about Legends Arceus. You mention that the 4000 encounters is about not having found a shiny yet in the game, and then talk about methods. My mistake.

I know almost nothing about ZA but I think that's a lot more answerable than LA

If you're only concerned about the main story and battles, then expect around 25 hours. However, as with any Pokémon game, this can balloon in hours, and it'll solely depend on how much side content you do.
It would probably take years since it takes 5 years to catch every Pokemon.

Pardon my stupidity, what is this answer trying to say?
That last sentence is just plain wrong
I’m sorry it will probolbly take years?! To find a shiny?! I have played for 40 hours and have found 2 so far if finding shinys took years I would be the luckiest man on earth

5 years? more like a week for this guy
I'm only saying what I fount on Google, so don't blame me for what it says.
You can’t blindly trust everything you see on the internet, and it’s important to take accountability for misinformation you spread. You can’t blame your actions and words on others.
Additionally, it’s important to add sources when you’re spreading information as facts. If you saw this from somewhere, you should link it.
