At what point are stats determined for an egg?

I’m not sure if it’s the same or different by game, I’ve been playing Sword. I’m just curious when stats like gender, shininess, nature etc are decided for an egg? Is it before you get it from the daycare lady or before it hatches? Another point?

I think in most other games (such as Platinum), the stats of the egg are determined when you pick them up from the day care. However, I can't find a source to confirm it works like this in Gen 8.

I'm like 90% sure it's all generated once you obtain the egg, before it hatches, in sword. I know this isn't the case for gen 2/3/4 games.
