so I am currently playing Pokemon mystery dungeon blue rescue team on the ds and am at the fight with moltres and all I got is a level 22 charmander (me) and a level 22 treecko (partner) and no items at all (not a challenge just circumstance) and moltres 2 taps with anything it has so ive been stuck in a loop of climbing three floors occasionally getting double teamed by fearows and dying and when I dont I die to moltres. so any tips on how to beat moltres or am I screwed

Does your Charmander know Smokescreen?
Use Smokescreen on it if your Charmander has it. If you get an Attract TM by roaming arond Mt.Blaze , that can also cheese the Moltres fight. I'd also set Treecko's AI to "Get Away" since Moltres can OHKO it, leading to an instant loss. Worst case scenario, you can also just grind using the last 3 floors of Mt.Blaze until you get strong enough to beat Moltres.

Foolproof strategy
Go back to the bottom of Mt.Blaze and wander around till you find an Attract TM. Then when you get to Moltres, wait for it to come to you and then use Attract on it immediately. This will cause Moltres to be immoblized for several terms. Then hit Moltres with your strongest attacking moves until it goes down, using both Treecko and Charmander. This is the easiest to execute strategy by a long shot but is dependent on finding an Attract TM.
Regular strategy
Set Treecko to "Get Away", then wait for Moltres to come to you. Then use Smokescreen on it with your Charmander and spam your strongest attacking moves. Smokescreen is hilariously overpowered in this game and makes enemies ALWAYS miss their attacks. Once Smokescreen wears off, use it again. Repeat until Moltres goes down.
Brute force method: Use the last 3 floors of Mt Blaze and simply grind until you get overleveled enough to beat Moltres. You can also go back to bottom of Mt Blaze and try to farm Reviver Seeds, Oran Berries and Stun Seeds through Kecleon Shops to make the Moltres fight easier.
This is very time consuming and not reccomended if the above 2 options are available.
Note that the first two strategies only work in the original GBA/DS versions of Rescue Team and no longer work in the switch remakes.
