Please let me know if there's anything in particular you wanted to know what this summary doesn't answer, and I'll see if I can add it.
Differences between plans:
Judge function: Is locked entirely behind the Premium Plan.
Moving Pokémon from Pokémon Bank: The Basic Plan does not have this feature, while the paid does.
Number of Pokémon that can be deposited: The Basic Plan only allows for 30
Pokémon, while the Premium Plan has a limit of 6,000 Pokemon.
Number of Pokémon that can be placed in the Wonder Box at once: 3 Pokémon compared to 10 in the Premium Plan.
Number of Pokémon that can be placed in the GTS at once: The Basic Plan only allows for 1 Pokémon while the Premium Plan can have up to 3.
Room Trade: Basic plan has participate only, while the the Premium Plan allows for participation and hosting.
Number of medals that can be possessed the Basic Plan only allows for 30 medals, while the Premium Plan can have up to 1,000 medals.
What are the most useful features?
I believe the most useful features would be Judge, the 6,000 storage capacity upgrade, and moving Pokémon from Bank to Home. See my explanation below for the rationale of why they may be important.
Why someone may want to buy the Premium Plan
Competitive Battling: The ability to easily store hundreds upon thousands of Pokémon, release easier at mass, and see the IVs makes it easy to mass breed and then pick and choose, and easily get rid of the rest.
Master Living Dex: Having up to 6,000 spots allows someone to have a complete Living Dex available to them, easily safe and stored, and easily accessed.
Trying to obtain certain Pokémon: Using the trading features, one can more easily try to complete their Pokedex, or get Pokémon they want or need, by being able to mass Wondertrade.
Sending Pokémon from Bank to Home: Players who have older games may want to send up their Pokémon from Black or Crystal, which is only possible with the Premium Plan.
Sending Pokémon from Go to Home: Players who have played GO may want to send over Pokémon. Maybe they have a bajillion shinies, Maybe they have a Pokémon in GO that's the other version's maybe they just don't play GO anymore. While the Basic Plan doesn't limit GO, it does have a 30 Pokémon limit in the box, which is annoying.
General Pokémon Storage: If someone had played a lot of games and wants all their Pokémon easily assessable, the 6,000 limit will allow someone to keep all their Pokémon at their fingertips, and move seamlessly across compatible games.
Is it worth it?
If it's worth the money or not is up entirely to the individual.
- If you don't care about IVS, breeding, living dexes and don't need to move Pokémon up from older games, then the basic plan is sufficient.
- If you don't have a lot of Pokémon or Pokémon games, then you wouldn't need all of the extra space.
- A lot of the features are more quality of life and deluxe, rather
than necessities; if you're short on money, it's not needed.
Why I buy the Premium Plan:
I like having the Premium Plan as I am someone who likes to shiny hunt, breed perfect IV Pokémon, has thousands of Pokémon across every game, and likes to go for perfect Pokedexs. I personally like the convenience of all the features it offers. I like to use the Wonder Box to get different, random Pokémon, which I can use to trade on the GTS, use for a Pokedex. For me, it's worth it.
