I'm trying to get a Golett with the ability No Guard, but it has Iron Fist as its ability. Is there a way to get its hidden ability without having to search hours in the field to get one that has the ability No Guard? I mean if the Ditto has a hidden ability, wouldn't it be possible for the Golett that is in the daycare with the Ditto to get a hidden ability or does the Golett have to have its hidden ability to get a Golett egg with No Guard?
Okay, so, in later games, gen VI and onwards, based on some YouTube guides, the ditto has nothing to do with passing on hidden abilities... But the good news is, how breeding has worked in regard to hidden abilities since gen VI, that the parent (That is the same species of the child that you are trying to get) can pass it down, but only if the parent actually has the hidden ability you want. It supposedly has a 60 percent chance of passing down the hidden ability, so the odds are good! So, you would have to try using an ability patch, depending on what game you're playing; to get a hidden ability, it's the easiest method besides trading. Just note that females cannot pass down hidden abilities, I didnt figure that out until later on during gameplay.
