saw a similar question to this once about the re-realeases of RBY on the 3DS however I can’t find the thread anymore :(

In terms of glitches, bugs, events, the online communication that might be added, or anything else you can think of!

I concede. I made the mistake of misinterpreting a reddit post. What a moron!
20 bucks is still a lot for a 20 year old game. I think if any other company put a 20 year old game up for digital re-release, especially on steam, for example, people would pitch a fit. Buy the terraria four pack for your friends. Infinite fun.
Some changes:
- saving is faster (lol)
- Pokemon home (soon)
- the resolution appears to be upscaled or something.
- the staff on the upper floor of the Pokémon center explain wireless online and local trading
According to some people on Discord, they changed the button combination for soft resetting, it's possible to respawn legendaries after running or defeating them, and you can find Raikou and Entei again if they use roar.
When writing a NSFW name for characters or Pokemon, it defaults instead.
And the deoxys and lugia and ho oh event tickets are available after the league, without an event. Just some extra info to put out there

The FRLG re-releases are almost a 1:1 port of the original GBA game. Here is list of known differences between the Switch re-release and the original, from Bulbapedia. Everything not in the below list is the same as the original GBA game.

  1. The game uses the wireless capabilities of the Nintendo Switch instead of the GBA Link Cable or Wireless Adapter.
  2. The AuroraTicket and MysticTicket are now automatically obtained after entering the Hall of Fame in this version, allowing access to Birth Island and Navel Rock without an event.
  3. Names for the player character or rival and nicknames for Pokémon that include a censored word are treated as if the text-entry field was left blank, replacing it with a default name or the Pokémon's species name.
  4. The button combination to initiate the Berry Program Update on the title screen has been disabled.
Using the Button Mode “L=A” now additionally maps face button functions onto the D-Pad, movement controls onto the right analogue stick, and the B button onto the ZL and ZR Triggers, allowing for a one-handed control-style very similar to using a single Joy-Con in Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!.
  5. The Roaming Roar glitch is patched out. (https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_battle_glitches_in_Generation_III#Roaming_Roar_bug)
