Tailwind tyranitar outsped scarf Typholsion?

Question

Double battle. Opponent sets up tailwind - as I understand, tailwind doubles speed. Ttar should should have around 81 speed at lvl 50 (usually uninvested stat for ttar) doubling that gets you 161. My Typlosion has 152 base speed and with scarf (+50%) should come out to 228 or so. Am I insane? Can ttar even hit 228 unless it was jolly? It was not scarfed, used different moves during battle. Absolutely lost me the game & I made an account just for this post. Please tell me I'm wrong somewhere or is champions tailwind bugged

Maxed out Ttar hits 124 Speed (248 under Tailwind). Max Speed Tyranitar is a new one to me but I can't think of anything else this could be.

iirc, the starter Tyranitar in Champions is max speed with Jolly, so there are some speedy Tyranitars in Champions.

Tyranitar, with full Speed investment and a Jolly nature reaches 124 Speed, or 248 under Tailwind. This outspeeds your Typhlosion and is the most likely case, but it could've been brought on for a few other reasons.

• Typhlosion lost the Choice Scarf to Knock Off or Trick.
• Typlosion was Paralyzed, lowering its Speed.
• Tyranitar set up Dragon Dance or was Baton Passed stat changes.
• Typhlosion's Speed was lowered earlier due to a move like Icy Wind.
• Tyranitar could move earlier after its ally used After You on it.
• Tyranitar's Quick Claw activated.
• Tyranitar was Mega Evolved.
