PokéBase - Pokémon Q&A

So, as a chimecho fan, I was ecstatic when mega chimecho came out. It gained a steel typing and got better stats, so I’ve been wondering if It’s mega form is good enough to use in battle. I have tried it out (obvi) and it seemed to run pretty well with:
Recover
- to heal up
Dazzling gleam
- against dark types
Cosmic power
- for bulk and setup
Stored power
- to make use of aforementioned boosts
This has worked pretty well for me but I’m not sure if It’d work in higher tiers (there’s also plenty things that counter it). I’ll appreciate any tips!

What battle format are you talking about? The LZA megas aren't included in Smogon's tiered metagames currently, so it'd make more sense to ask about Champions Reg M-A.
Well yes, I was talking any champions, but was js wondering about against Pokémon that are classified in higher tiers
What's so interesting about tiers though? They're irrelevant to every meta involving this mon (currently)
I don't know if anyone knows the answer right now. You might want to wait a few more weeks for other people to play the game and figure it out.

In doubles, this Chimecho moveset is vulnerable to double targeting because it doesn't have protect.

In singles, Chimecho has bad offensive typing and coverage moves, which makes it easy to check for Samurott, Ceruledge, and just about every steel Pokemon. Mega Chimecho also prevents you from mega evolving a better Pokemon. If you want a defensive Pokemon that's good at boosting, you should use Aegislash or Kingambit instead.
