What's better to run on Luxray competitively: Intimidate or Guts a holding Flame Orb?

Question

I use a Luxray in Pokémon Champions, and the Flame Orb isn't an item yet, so I've been running Intimidate on her, which has been going really well for me. The times I've tried using Guts on her have been in Doubles where one of her teammates knows Will-o-Wisp, and it leaves her in a dangerous position when I do that, so I've been running Intimidate since it's proved very useful against many opponents.

I intend on giving her a Flame Orb to run Guts on her all the time once the Flame Orb is added to Champions, but it feels very risky.

So, Intimidate or Guts holding a Flame Orb?

It kinda depends on what your using Luxray for. Use Intimidate if it's for support, or use Guts if it's for damage.

(I’m assuming your playing doubles bc you mentioned doubles in your question)

Luxray should always use intimidate over guts in doubles for a number of reasons. The biggest problem with guts luxray is that it takes a turn to activate flame orb which leaves luxray not doing much for that first turn. The other problem is that luxray cant do any meaningful damage to inciniroar which allows incin to neuter luxray by just comming on to the field and intimidating it. Intimidate on the other hand offers far more utility and luxray also gets stab volt switch allowing it to cycle intimidates and wear down your opponents at the same time.

I don't think Luxray should be used at all. There are multiple better intimidate users, like Arcanine, Tauros, Gyarados, Manectric, and Incineroar.

Yeah you’re right Mega Manectric does everything Luxray does better and Incin is better in almost every way as well. I didn’t mention them in the answer because the asker asked about luxray not what to use instead of luxray. If you think I should add them to the answer I can.
