No. This is impossible. Only shiny pokemon evolve into shiny, thus this wont work.

No! Actually, in pokemon Y my  charmander that was given to me in the very game itself evolved into a charmeleon, then evolved into a black charizard. I am being very serious here. The rules have probably changed now. Although I have been trying to find answers about it and it seems that it ha only happened to me.

Yes. It’s extremely rare and because it’s so rare, people with cognitive dissonance have criticized and verbally attacked me for posting about it on facebook because they can’t find a youtube video on it lol. I’m still confused it happened. I had been trying to evolve chingling for a while using a soothe bell. I caught him just to fill my dex, don’t really care about the poke. It was definitely not shiny. I only had a shiny graveler and mr. Mime which I caught randomly. Chingling non-shiny literally evolved into a shiny. I found out it also used to happen on oras.

You are mistaken, OP. I hope my saying this doesn't mean I have "cognitive dissonance". Anybody who wishes to prove this may do so by observing that personality values, TID and SID don't change upon evolution (as a shift in those numbers would be the only explanation for Shiny trait changing upon evolution).

@Fizz Glad you have at least an ounce of awareness. yes it most certainly does mean you are. For example, had I been the 1st person to ever catch a shiny with no outside knowledge of such, you would still deny because of your ignorance. Typical human behavior . Good day  and happy shiny hunting .

@pryncemyke was there a star anywhere in the Chingling's summary? Did it sparkle when you sent it into battle? If any of these happened, then the Chingling was definitely a shiny. Also, what game did you get the Chingling in?

@pryncemyke Fizz presented perfectly logical evidence that a non-shiny cannot evolve in to a shiny-personality values do not change upon evolution. Due to this, gender (except for in the case of Azurill I believe, although I don’t recall why this is the case), IVs, and shininess do not change upon evolution under any circumstances. Acting all high and mighty and insulting the people who are correct is likely what got you 4 downvotes. Shiny Chingling looking nearly identical to its normal form also doesn’t look good for your answer, as it leads people to come to the conclusion that you just didn’t notice. Also, what game did this happen to you in? If it is a newer title, you could prove that you haven’t caught a shiny chingling by using the Pokedex, and if it is a ROM hack or something of the like, you’re simply using an unofficial game as evidence that the real games have this feature.

@pryncemyke The existence of Shiny Pokemon can be proven by inspecting strings and files in the G/S ROM. What the answer claims is not comparable.
AlphaSapphire has a good suggestion to check whether Shiny Chingling is registered in your Pokedex, as you would agree Shiny Chimecho is. I hope that will give some closure.
(Also...I recommend you search what cognitive dissonance means.)

@AlphaSapphire this is less relevant, but Azurill previously had a chance to change Gender upon evolution because the Gender Ratio is determined by Personality Values, and Azurill and Marill have different Gender Ratios, so some of the Personality Values that are Female for Azurill were male for Marill, thus the gender change (and all other aspects, Nature, Shininess, IVs, etc. remain unchanged). This was also fixed in Gen 7 and onwards iirc. :P
