What Would Happen if a Pokemon with Clear Body Used A Move That Lowered One Of Its Stats?

If Metagross Could Use hammer Arm, Without Losing Speed, it would be a great move for him(Though, if it lowers speed, you get a powerful gyro ball)!

It doesn't protect against thing that lower its own stats, like when torkoal uses overheat. It still goes down.
