Is there any specific reason for the pokemon on the banner at the top of the site being Scyther and Electivire?

Not really. I do like Scyther a lot, and I like the look of Electivire although I don't like it much for actually using in the game.

Mainly it's just because they fitted nicely in the space. I have tried various other Pokemon at times and never found a good combo.

Pokemaster said that it's because he likes these Pokemon and that they fit in well into the banner.
