Does the content of the 'Friend Codes' section on your profile section affect the character limit?

Yeah, 8,000 characters. And I hit it. Multiple times. xD
If you read my achievements you would know that. Stop stalking my wall and stalk my profile instead. :P

Each section has its own 8000 limit, so you can up to 8000 for FC, 8000 for Bio.

I believe this is how it works. Feel free to correct though, anyone.
