How can I delete my account?

Question

I know there's a thread on this already but the creator of the thread didn't actually want to delete his account so the simple answer of ''You cannot do that yourself'' was enough. I, however, actually do want to delete my account for personal reasons, and seeing as there should be some way, I want to know in order to proceed.

Updating this now since things have changed. Accounts can be deleted and any posts you made will become "anonymous". However, consider if you really do want to delete your account - leaving it here does no harm, you will not be contacted any more.

By far the quickest thing to do is simply stop visiting if you don't want to use the site any more. You can blank out your profile by clicking your username in the top right then the "Edit my Profile" button. Also make sure to uncheck the box saying "Allow users to post on your wall" so you don't get any emails.

If you really want to delete your account, then please email me (address is on the About page) and I will manually delete it. You must email from the address in your account (otherwise anyone could email me claiming to be you).

You should email Pokemaster from the email address you used to create an account here, cause commenting here won't help at all; Pokemaster doesn't check this thread anymore.

@mwhceul5e Are you referring to the part where it says you need to email Pokemaster to delete your account? From what I'm seeing, this doesn't violate the GDPR -- in sending your email, you're giving explicit consent for your personal data to be processed.

According to Article 6 of the GDPR, "the data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes;". This shows that if you are explicitly choosing to send your email to Pokemaster for him to delete your account, and you are 13 years or older (or have parental permission if below 13 years of age), it doesn't violate the GDPR.

I might be wrong, but doesn't Pokemaster has access to all the emails used to create an account on the site (or atleast they're stored in the site data) either way?
