Hi, the chat on this site seems to have some really annoying users. Me and some other people would love the feature of blocking an user (not seeing his or her messages in the chat, unable to post on your wall).

Does this not already exist? (I'm asking)
This has been requested and rejected because blocking a user's dialogue has the potential to leave a large portion of the conversation out in the chat, therefore it was considered pointless. While I agree with this stance in terms of long-term blocking, short-term blocking is good for ignoring trolls etc. until they get kicked out.
Indigo is right I think. This is Pokemaster's decision so I won't add a full answer here, but I definitely understand where you're coming from -- in recent years the chat room seems to have attracted a demographic that I've never really been able to integrate with either, one element of why I just about never use it now.
Though I couldn't really say how active it is nowadays, I remember the DB Showdown server offering better quality conversations than what you'll get on the chat room. You might choose to use that as an alternative means of communication if the main chat room gets too frustrating: http://pokemondatabase.psim.us/
If there are users in the chat that consistently prove to be a negative presence, feel free to submit a report about them and we'll have a look at it.
Yeah, but the users at this chat are generally more fun to talk with, that's why i rather stay here.
What about simply a client-side mute function?
That is the whole idea of muting someone.
You don't see his messages in the chat, and no, this doesn't leave out parts of the communication if it's a troll or an annoying person, so that's not a good argument.
But I thought block only prevents the target from switching out. If it could allow you to completely ignore the target, wouldn't that be broken?
No, because if the target has been annoying you, you don't have to deal with it anymore!
My point is, wouldn't a battle mechanic like that be broken?
Well… it depends if the target can still attack you.
