So after the author of this post was so thoroughly shut down by Pokemaster, I was curious to see if they'd returned since to see what legal AWNSER they'd received. (They haven't.) However in the process, I noticed their points count totalled -18, which is a strange number considering that all they've received are down votes. Looks as if they got a couple of points back when trachy selected their legal AWNSER. This must be righted immediately.

(Jokes aside, why not take a look through these three posts I made a while back, hmm?)

A little off-topic, but do points cap at -20?
There's a limit to how many points you can gain or lose from one singular post, iirc. That post must have crossed that limit.
Has the points cap ever been reached, I know of a person who got around -100, but nothing else
The infamous post a few days ago has 8 downvotes, which should mean they have -80 points, but they have -18. So I assumed the points capped at 20. Perhaps I'm wrong though?
You stop gaining or losing points at 20 or -20 up/downvotes iirc. Not sure why the - points are capped at -20

No, not a bug. You get the points when your answer is selected no matter who selected it. The point is basically to prevent someone else taking away or adding another user's points (e.g. a moderator selects answer, then the user undoes it and reselects to give themselves extra points; or vice versa from a mod to remove points).
