Does it depend on the section? Does it include spaces? Please provide details. I want to know this because I’m currently writing a very long question in RMT and I want to know in advance, just in case anything dumb happens. (Which, considering that I’m me, is very likely).

12,000 characters, including spaces, in all sections.

You won't lose what you wrote if it's pushed back by the character limit.

Ok thanks. What I was really wondering not that if there was one but if it applied to a regular question you might ask or if it was something really big that no average question would hit.
99% of posts are nowhere near hitting this limit. If you're rubbing up against it, you're probably writing too much and should try to reduce it to the essential points.
Cool. I don’t think I’m anywhere close, either.
Just out of curiosity, have you ever had to shorten or split an answer because of the limit?
I've written 2 or 3 RMTs where the other half of my answer had to be a comment (mostly including stuff like "potential threats to this team" or smthing like that)
There is this https://pokemondb.net/pokebase/326249 which is 80% my writing. But I'm not too happy with that thread anymore and its wordiness is a major reason.
