You know how people put in 252 EVs into both defense stats for Pokemon like Toxapex? I have the feeling they think that the higher the defense stat, the better they will be able to defend. I've recently learned a new formula for figuring out a Pokémon's walling capabilities, HP*Def or HP*SpD
I also learned that Pokémon isn't a game of addition, bu rather a game of multiplication.

What numbers classify as low ladder games? It's probably a stupid question to ask, but I don't really consider myself a good competitve battler on Showdown. You can check my Showdown account, Zangoose373 to see all my ladders for the formats I played. I once made it to 1,200 roo for Gen 8 RU, but then my internet kept disconnecting during battles, causing my ladder rank to drop a lot. I guess everyone has there bad days. :(
