I saw a lot of Smeargles going around in OU on day, so I decided to toss up this team. Only a 1/2 hour's worth of work, but decent. 7/10 battles. Short on time, so no sprites yet.

Honestly? Smeargle isn't that hard to set up with, and pass. I mean, unless you have bad prediction, you can cripple a pokemon, and pass a shell smash off to cloyster or salamence. Standard B-Passer and the core.

Smeargle (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Own Tempo
EVs: 80 HP / 96 Def / 252 SDef / 80 SAtk
Timid Nature
- Spore
- Shell Smash
- Baton Pass
- Ingrain

Salamence. Hasn't seen too much use yet, mostly because of Cloyster always being a better choice. Very vulnerable to revenge killers - Ice Shard Weavile mostly. MixMence.
Salamence (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Moxie
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SAtk
Naive Nature
- Outrage
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast

A Calm Mind passer just didn't work out with no special attackers. So I went with the standard set. I could sub out Salamence for a special attacker, and go back to Calm Mind + Baton Pass.

Espeon (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Calm Mind
- Stored Power
- Substitute

Sigh. Epic sweeps. Just covers everything common in OU, except for Jirachi and a couple other Steel types. Those come in, I'm dead. Suggestions?

Cloyster @ White Herb
Trait: Skill Link
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Icicle Spear
- Rock Blast
- Shell Smash
- Ice Shard

Setter. Used this set a lot, no vulnerabilities.

Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Power Whip
- Leech Seed
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave

Because of Cloyster, I need a spinner. Starmie just fills that role, and can cover most spin blockers. Again, standard set.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 32 Def / 4 SAtk / 224 Spd
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Recover
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Psyshock

Not much change from normal sets, but the threats I need some help with.

Infernape and Lucario tape this team up :3
Smeargle is so easy to predict; 1 STAB move from a sweeper will activate Focus Sash; Spore; switch Pokemon; Shell Smash; priority move/ Prankster Taunt; no Baton Pass or Smeargle for the rest of the game.
A Baton Pass team needs to keep the Pass going, not stop after one Pokemon ._.
Um, fondant, your scenario will probably occur like 1/80 times or something. Not only that but it's so damn easy to force a switch out and repeat.
Sorry Flare, she's right. SmashPass Smeargle is very easy to defeat when you're a GOOD PLAYER. Not the ladder.
it is quite easy to predict. Pritoirty will pretty much beat smeargle in no time, and smeargle wasn't the best around anyway.
Actaully Lum berry can counter it easily.
Why do you have offensive EVs on Smeargle...
It's not easy to force a switch when all you have is a Smeargle. Most people who use Smeargle don't want to switch when they've used their focus sash. Either they'll switch or try to Baton Pass out, in which case a priority move will clean up.
What i tried to do was have a chain of smeargle -> espy (former b-pass version) -> salamence - something that never quite worked out.  But I've been gone for a long while, and this is one of my first teams anyways. :P  But, how could I counter Infernape better, as it seems to be the biggest threat?
