I haven't done sun since.... forever. Honestly I was convinced that it was an outclassed team style until one day, I came across a sun team that looked well built, but I thought my sand stall could take it on. I unfortunately lost the weather war, But I thought lando-T and chansey would carry me through to victory. I was wrong. Mixed Venusaur cleaned up my last two pokemon with HP ice, but one pokemon in particular truly screwed my team over: scarfed Victini. It single-handedly OHKOd Much of my team, And I truly started to appreciate the menace sun can truly be. Still I was not convinced that it was really viable, until once started using his great RMT on me, The ramones Not so much the rest of his team, but the one pokemon I really feared was gothitelle, which tended to screw my strategies over. My mind was made up: I was going to build a sun team featuring Victini and Gothitelle!

Team Preview!
Ninetales Victini Gothitelle Donphan Chansey Venusaur

Ninetales @ Leftovers
enter image description here
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 HP / 136 Spd / 120 Def
Timid Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Flamethrower
- Sunny Day
- Roar

While Ninetales doesn't have an expansive movepool or a good stat distribution, it can run a few viable sets that allow it to just barely pull its weight.

Well it wouldn't be a sun team without ninetales, now would it? ninetales, although generally a bad pokemon, this is one of the sets that allow it to pull its weight. Will-O-Wisp Is to cripple them physical attackers not named conkeldurr, as ninetales actually does have decent speed. Flamethrower is just so it has some offensive presence, Sunny Day was popularized by a really great RMT, and is great to this day, and Roar is to stop them setup sweepers.

Victini @ Choice Scarf
enter image description here
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- V-create
- U-turn
- Bolt Strike
- Trick

It wouldn't be a stretch to say that, in many cases, Victini is a threat even before the battle begins. Alongside Darmanitan and Chandelure, it is one of the main incentives to pack an especially sturdy Fire-type resist on your team, and it can use U-turn to weaken its checks before launching V-create with reckless abandon. As it stands, Victini is a powerful wallbreaker that eliminates many key contenders in the UU metagame. Don't be surprised to find the words 'not very effective' scroll uselessly onto the screen as one of its checks is reduced to ashes.

Meet the MVP (Most Valuable Pokemon) of the team. Any UU player know what victini can truly do. V-Create Is the crux of this set, as in the sun it is a whopping 405 base power when you factor in STAB and sun boost, which is enough to make even bulky waters such as rotom cry for mercy. Bolt Strike Is for you, Politoed. It is enough to make waters hard to switch in. U-Turn is to grab some tempo, and Trick is to doom walls if neccesary.

Gothitelle @ Choice Specs

Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 240 HP / 252 SAtk / 16 Spd
Modest Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Trick

Meet the second MVP of the team. It's perfect for trapping things that annoy me and sends fear into the hearts of everyone. Thunderbolt is to nail Poli, Psyshock is to eliminate the pink blobs, HP fire is for steels and boosted, and Trick is to doom walls.

Donphan @ Leftovers
enter image description here
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 204 HP / 200 Def / 104 Atk
Impish Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake

A very niche pokemon, and for my team it works great. Stealth Rock is to break sturdy and is essential for nearly all OU teams. Rapid Spin Is to get rid of rocks which are the bane of my existence. Ice shard is for them dragons, and earthquake is STAB

Chansey @ Eviolite
enter image description here
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def / 4 HP / 252 SDef
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Seismic Toss
- Heal Bell

Chansey makes it onto almost all of my teams, and for good reason. IMO it is one of the best team supporters out there. Wish Is to heal a huge chunk of my team's HP. Protect is for chansey to receive them herself. Seismic Toss Is to do SOME damage, and Heal bell is to rid my team of status.

Venusaur @ Leftovers
enter image description here
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 172 Spd / 228 SAtk / 108 Atk
Mild Nature
- Growth
- Earthquake
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Ice]

And finally the chlorophyll abuser. Growth Boosts his attack and special attack by 2, and makes him a threat. Earthquake is to hit pokemon he normally wouldn't, such as heatran.
Giga Drain is to restore health. HP ice is to hit them dragons.

Welp, That's about it. Please suggest changes!
