Pokémon Rate My Team

I have now been on showdown a lot more than usual, so I have had time to try and test a team. I feel this is a successful team for my competitive ability, so first off I will show you the results of my 5 battles:

Won: 2
Lost: 3 (1 was really close and the other two had Mega-Scizor)

So, Mega-Scizor is a threat, I know that. Here's my team, so please rate and help me to destroy dem Sciz's.

Infernape
Infernape @ Expert Belt
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Spe / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- U-turn
- Fire Punch
- Close Combat

My strategy here is to either Fake Out and then U-turn if there is a bad type matchup, or Fake Out and attack if there is a good matchup. >:D

Alakazam
Alakazam @ Alakazite
Ability: Magic Guard / Trace
EVs: 252 Spe / 252 SpA / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
- Dazzling Gleam

Alakazam is a sweeper and a half. He may be weak, but with EVs and a speed-increasing nature, not many Pokemon will get a look in.

Gengar
Gengar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spe / 252 SpA / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Shadow Ball
- Dazzling Gleam
- Trick

Yet another speed-orientated set, but as well as being able to outspeed its victims (and enemies), it can stop defensive Pokemon setting up. Pretty evil, eh?

Excadrill
Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin

As well as being able to make the earth shake, crush Pokemon under rocks and smash his skull into opponents, this Excadrill is my spinner. I have found it a great help against many people.

Sylveon
Sylveon @ Light Clay
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 SpD / 252 HP / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Heal Bell

This fairy is pretty defensive, so a Dual Screen set is entirely viable. Also, you might be thinking wtf? Y U no fairy move? but Pixilate turns Normal moves into Fairy moves AND boosts them, so combined with Sylveon's decent Special Attack and STAB, Hyper Voice is pretty powerful.

Ferrothorn
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Gyro Ball
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Stealth Rock

This slow Pokemon kind of evens out the overall team speed, but this is also a good thing as his Gyro Ball is deadly. Somehow I found it funny when he OHKO'd Deoxys-Speed.

You have a Excradrill weakness; scarf Mold Breaker is becoming more common.
how is excadrill bulky
Expert Belt Iron Fist Fire Punch Infernape should take out Sciz, so keep him alive, and scare out Sciz. Then, when he has to use him, Fire Punch his face.
OOOh.. This is the Exact kind of team I both Fear And thoroughly enjoy fighting at the same time...but letz be honest Prankster Klefki is the Best Dual Screener out there
What should I do to stop Excadrill then? Maybe a SE move on Alakazam over Energy Ball?
Infernape is a good pokemon to have, but with the setup he has, I don't think he'd make a good lead. Try replacing him with Ferrothorn or the dual-screener.
Ferrothorn has hazard moves to be dangerous to the opponents.2 of them too.Nice!
Infernape is okay. People usually run stealth rocks Infernape now a days, which may take everyone by surprise with a fake out 8D

Mega Alakazam GOD DANG IT,NO! This thing sucks Dx yes,it's powerfull, but it has nothing special! Alakazam was never about it's stats (that were already decent) but about it's ABILITY. Trace is probably one of the worst and most situational abilities. Without Magic guard,Alakzam is still strong as i said, but that are better special sweepers, like Greninja. Keep a normal one with a focus sash or alife orb. also, you should replace Energy ball with Focus blast,to take stuff like Bisharp or T-Tar.

Gengar is fine? Not the set i play gengar, but it doesn't mean is a bad set. all good here.

Honestly there isn't much to say about the rest of your team,is pretty cool. Just please,PLEASE,remove that mega Alakazam. Do yourself a favor.
well life orb alakazam with magic guard does more than its mega, and if u do mega evolve,it would be a waste of such a good ability since trace isn't that reliable
u might wanna put rocky helmet on ur ferro for physical attackers to eat lead, works especially well when ur opponent uses a skill linked pokemon

Infernape

The burning ape is boss at mixed sweeping. You have a lot of possibilities, like the Fake Out offensive Stealth Rock, but this leaves you SubDisable Gengar weak. Instead, let's try an approach of a combinaison of Overheat and Close Combat:

Infernape @ Choice Scarf:
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 252 Speed / 172 SAtk / 84 Atk
Naive Nature

  • Overheat
  • Close Combat
  • Stealth Rock
  • Thunder Punch

Stealth Rock offensive lead, with a twist in Overheat. Underestimate it not: even with 172 Atk, you 2HKO Jellicent and Blissey with ThunderPunch and Close Combat, respectively, after Stealth Rock. Overheat and Close Combat together are in one mission: destroy Steel and SkarmBliss. This will also mock Scizor and Mega-Scizor, for info. SkarmBliss won't switch in ease in whatever you throw at them. Blissey wanna not risk the KO by Close Combat, whereas Skarmory's wet paper special defense is holding it back on coming because of Overheat.

Alakazam-Mega

Nope, Alakazam is not gonna work over there. Mega-Alakazam fears Scizor too much, and that's the reason I'm sure it was the cause of your defeats against Scizor and Excadrill. Scarf Excadrill is getting common, so Alakazam is getting hidden by better threats. Its glory hour may have passed. Keep the Mega for something else. Try the frog:

Greninja @ Choice Scarf:
Trait: Protean
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Speed / 4 SDef
Modest Nature

  • Surf
  • Dark Pulse
  • Grass Knot
  • Ice Beam

Scarf Greninja ? Without U-Turn ? Fear not. I know what I'm telling you to use. Scarf Greninja loses the Protean because getting glued to one move is not attracting, and morover, Greninja's job is to switch typing to sweep, and needs liberty. Then, do you think I'm an idiot ? I am not. Scarf Greninja actually outspeed the whole tier at a comfortable 514 base speed if I am not wrong, and it outspeeds other scarfers, like Excadrill, and can retaliate against them and leave a dent, because of its nice Special Attack when Modest. Dishing in a Specs will render it too slow for doing its job. Greninja outspeeding the tier outspeed can OHKO Excadrill and Specs Latios, which is grand. Anyway, if it doesn't work then try the standard Life Orb Greninja.

Gengar

SubDisable Gengar is arguably the best Gengar nowadays, so try it.

Gengar @ Black Sludge:
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Speed / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature

  • Sludge Bomb
  • Shadow Ball
  • Substitute
  • Disable

Gengar is a to face. It is damn too much annoying to counter it and it can setup on a surprising amount of things. Disable, like its name implies it, disables the last move your foe used, obliging choiced Pokémon to struggle against mighty freakin' adorable Gengar. Now that Shadow Ball is normally effective on Steel, you can safely abuse the dual STAB combination of little Gengar like it has to be done.

Excadrill

Fine.

Sylveon

I've found a true job for pixie: Baton Passing. Really. If you want dual screen, prefer Klefki.

Klefki @ Light Clay:
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 Speed / 252 SDef / 4 HP
Timid Nature

  • Reflect
  • Light Screen
  • Toxic
  • Foul Play

Foul Play is to avoid being Taunt Bait. Dual Screens is in the skin of your strategy, and Toxic cripple much more than you can think.

Ferrothorn

Now that you have your Stealth Rock Setter, you may want to change Ferrothorn. The Mega can come here, and your choice is wide. I'd recommend Mega-Pinsir simply because it looks, and is boss.

Pinsir @ Pinsirite:
Trait: Aerilate
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Speed / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature

  • Quick Attack
  • Frustration
  • Swords Dance
  • Close Combat / U-turn / Substitute

The best set for Pinsir so far. The choice between Close Combat, U-Turn and Substitute is hard because Close Combat adds coverage, while U-Turn allows scouting and Substitute eases up the setup. Frustration is more swag on a furious beast like Mega-Pinisr, and the happiness should be set to zero. Quick Attack is strong priority.

Hope this helps.

~ Sincerely yours, Blitz of Justice.

rocks on a scarf :/ watch out
This seems like a solid team, but this utilizes two choice scarf users. In addition, the changes sacrifice the walls; the team relies on light screen and reflect. Otherwise, great team.
