After being a participant of the STABmons tour, i can proudly say that I successfully took the win. Although I did have it easier than the likes of Flafpert or Gligurr (my UU round opponent forfeit), it was still rather difficult to build strong, offensive teams (my style) that could break through common cores.

NU Round

NU was easily my most solid squad, no exceptions. However, everyone was playing NU like it was Ubers, just getting a free set-up once their Kangaskhan came in on something it threatened. Of course, you had the losers who ran Ditto, but they don't count. :]

Seeing I had to build this like an Uber team (after a practice with Flafpert or Mike, I believe), I decided to make mons similar to Uber mons. Vivillon was the first to appear on the team. Just being a Sleep inducer isnt reason enough to pick Vivillon, at least not for me. What sold me to using him was Hurricane. This allowed it to all switch ins that were sleep immune (Primape and grass types). It originally was like a QD 2 attacks set, but even in singles, that set sucks bad. So I decided to optimize. I made it a Sub Sash lead set. How does it work? Well, it guarantees your sleep. Then, you have 1 free turn of doing whatever you want. You can sub up if a spooky threat is gonna come in; you can Tail Glow if you have a favorable matchup against the opponent; you can Oblivion wing to restore health if you moved second. This is key, since not all attacks can break Vivi's sash, thus allowing you to come back in later and get the guaranteed sleep.

Next, we have the fire member. While Rapidash was the last member on the final team, it doesn't mean it was the worst. Since it outspeed a great majority of the tier, it was a nice option, especially against people who though Scrubtom-F was good. Rapidash was just solid against all. It also helped as a status inducer, thanks to Sacred Fire, and it gave me a really nice Fire immunity (I believe Typhlosion was NU at the time). Anyways, Rapidash is a pro who pretty much put the spook into the opponent, rather than sweep.

At last, the best damn mon of NU. You though Vivillon was my lead? Lol think again (insert FE:A Chrom's VA here). Liepard is a godsend in NU, having Prankster, so it can stop all these bad set-up scrubs. It is also a Sash breaker (although I didnt encounter any other sash leads), and easily the best pivot. I also gave it some priority [sucker punch] after Fake Out, as it didnt want it to e completely useless. I used a dread plate bc Liepard doesnt need the lefties (too much pivoting, not enough staying in), and Silk Scarf wasnt going to make Fake Out any more powerful lol. So i went with a Dread Plate + Sucker Punch, as well as slapping an Adamant nature on it, since I had no intentions of outspeeding an opposing Liepard.

Then we got the Ekiller. All these hoes were raging because they couldnt beat Kangaskhan lol. Tough luck. I went for a SubSD set with a Lum Berry, not needing the Lefties or Silk Scarf because 1.) Liepard TWave is annoying, so I gotta have my Kanga healthy and always moving, and 2.) it allowed me to have a check for opposing sleep inducers. Sub allowed me to fight off opposing Kangakhans, since I'm not running max speed, meaning I would almost always lose the speed wars. Instead, I went for attack, as it allowed me probably get more KO's, and I could always Drain Punch my way back to reasonable amounts of HP. And no Ekiller is complete without Espeed.

Ya thought 1 Scrappy was enough? Pangoro is the tank for the team. Any damage another member cant afford, Pangoro will take. Yet another SD mon, but his role is quite different. It was to spread powerful Knock Off's (somewhat like Bisharp) and then heal up with Drain Punch. Additionally, it is able to get Sucker Punch, giving me yet another check to spooky set-ups like Sash Accelgor (Sucker Punch + Liepard's Fake Out).

Samurott is the Kyogre representative on this Ubers-like NU team. Just give it a Scarf and spam Water Spout. However, thanks to everyone running like 5 priority moves (I'm no different), O had to have a backup. Steam Eruption was thankfully legal for the tourney, so something close to Hydro Pump's power + Scald's chance to burn was too good to pass up. Next is Ice Beam, just for the good coverage. Lastly, the questionable Megahorn. Megahorn was specifically used to beat Ludicolo scrubs outside of rain.

RU Round

While all these scrubs (mainly Kijani and Sempiternus) thought that I was really good at teh RU's or w/e, they were wrong. I only have knowledge of Gen 5 RU, which was superior to this bad stall-infested tier (with Fletchinder now). I had realized how great Kangaskhan was in NU, so I brought it over, seeing that there was still nothing to stop it. However, this time I brought out the Silk Scarf, an replaced Sub with Refresh, allowing to easily set up on Slowking's who though they won it bc they got a TWave on me lol. The rest is the same, except for a bit more bulk.

Next is the Kijani wrecker v2 (watch the replay). I had my doubt on weather to use Moltres or not, since I wasnt running Defog support. However, I'm glad I did. Moltres was known as the ultimate Regen core killer is Gen 5, so it could do the same here. With buffed up moves in Sacred Fire, and a healing move in Oblivion Wing, I decided that LO 3 attacks would be great. However, HP Grass does pitiful amounts of damage to Slowking, so I needed a replacement, fast. At that point, I decided I didnt need Roost (I had Oblivion Wing), and decided to make my Moltres similar to last gen's NU Charizard Sunny Day sweeper. This allowed me to bring Solarbeam, capable of killing Slowking with any prior damage, as well as destroying Rhyperior, Amoongus, Tangrowth, and Alololololamalolololola.

Next up is Escavalier. This dude literally is just here to beat Slowking + Tangrowth/Amoongus cores, as Slowking cannot beat it (unless Fire Blast), and the Grass mons cannot put it to sleep.

Next is Jolteon. You might say "omg Helioreptile is bettar!!1!", but I disagree. I'd rather have a nice Electric immunity than having a mon with a sun ability if moltres happens to die. Remember that it isnt heat rock Moltres, so 5 turns aint gonna do crap lol. Instead, I went for BoltBeam Shell Smash, with Shadow Ball specifically for Doublade. Since Jolteon is gonna go fast anyways, regardless of Shell Smash or not, I decided to tone him down a bit and run Modest nature, to make Tbolt give more ouchies.

The Wendy's Baconator look spooky irl. i wanted a Scarf mon that wears down common cores (did I mention i hate the Regen core?), and possibly take them out. I decided to put it all on the line, and take a Final Gambit set. Since Emboar has a huge HP stat, it works! V-Create and CC are good bc V-Create doesnt lower my HP like Flare Blitz does, and CC doesnt lower my attack like Superpowe does. You may ask why I didnt put a filler on last moveslot, but tbh, idgaf, emboar did what it needed to do. Also, note that the EVs dont help FG do crap or kill a specific mon lol, i just bs'd it.

Finally, the legit, all nee, 101% guaranteed Kijani killer. Sure, it won with a bit of Iron Hax, but that dont matter. Since Durant has a nice speed tier, Hustle (dayum gurl), and Hone Claws, i decided to put them to use. Attack Order > Megahorn because I didnt want to be missing after +1 Atk and Acc. Also, it has high crit ratio, meaning I could possiby hax away. Iron head > Meteor Mash because 1.) hax, and 2.) hax + not wanting to miss after +1. Stone Edge is ONLY here because Moltres walls this set. (Kijani got hardcore destroyed by this bug)

Quick note: this team had no real synergy, just a bunch of wallbreakers. This was key in defeating Kijani to advance to UU round.

OU Round

You may have noticed I didnt post my (possibly best) team for UU. I just feel like it would be a waste of space, since I didnt even use it lol.

Anyways, OU, the moment to shine. Since I was facing Gligurr, my strategy was to counterpick every single possible mon Gligurr would probably pick, which was key to winning. I wanted to build around Nuke CharY. It's really just the standard set, with Blue Flare > Fire Blast, and Oblivion Wing > Roost/Dragon Pulse.

Next, i wanted to use this mon (even though I never did) for the spooks. Gravity Lando in STABmons is scary, since it has both Earth Power and Hurricane STABs, both receiving the Sheer Force boost. On the last slot, I was unsure between Knock Off or FB, but FB won so I could potentially kill Ferro, and Tran on balloon, as well as TTar.

Although he is next, Thundy-T was actually the last member on the team. I originally had monoCM Manaphy here, but after realizing what a huge Thundurus weakness I had, i changed and added the Gen 5 Thundy-T set in. Thankfully enough, Gligurr brought a Thundurus, which I was fully capable of "countering". Oblivion Wing > Focus Blast because I already had CharY and Lando with it, as well as another member already having a fighting move as well. It also gave me healsies.

Next is mah boy Chomp. I was unsure weather to use Haban Berry (and beat a possible CharX), or bring Yache Berry (and beat a possible everything that carries HP Ice). I ended up using Yache Berry, since there really is no way that CharX will be setting up for free on any of my mons. Dragon Dance makes Chomp a spook booster, and the Dual STABs make him beat everything in OU, thanks to Thousand Arrow's secondary effect. Sleep Talk is just in case i needed a Sleep Absorber, but ofc, Gligurr used his scrubby Lovely Kiss Chansey, catching me off guard.

Next is my lead mon Greninja. Since the sleep restrictions were lifted for OU, I was free to abuse Dark Void and/or Spore. I chose Dark Void because Gligurr uses MVenu, so Spore may backfire. On the other hand, Greninja is easily one of OU's fastest, and using a Sleep move with that offensive potential is scary. Standard set, with DVoid replacing Dark Pulse, as Aegislash didnt worry me too much.

Speaking of Aegislash, I needed something to counter Gligurr's almighty Diggersby, no? Well, what better way than Air Balloon Aegislash? I used a Max Speed SD set, to make sure I would always outspeed Adamant Bisharp. Shadow Force isnt as bad as you think, because the only switch ins are Normal types (Chansey and Diggersby on Gligurr's team), who really cant touch me. Sacred Sword beats said Normal types, so I wasnt worried. And since Ghost-Fight still has amazing coverage, I decided to be a spookster and net some revenge kills with Shadow Sneak. You realize I dont have King's Shield, which imo is dumb on a Max Speed Aegislash, as it needs to sweep and make holes on the opponent's team asap.
