I've understood Ev's and Iv's and some stuff like that for a while, but team building is new. I've tried a few things on Showdown, and any help would be great. Here's my team

Forretress @ Custap Berry
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Explosion
- Rapid Spin
- Volt Switch

Just to set up stealth rocks while being able to switch into them and take them out

Chandelure @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
- Trick

Just a special sweeper set, with being able to switch into Fire moves

Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Ice Shard
- Knock Off

A physical sweeper set, with Knock-Off and a priority move

Whimsicott @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
- Encore
- Leech Seed
- Giga Drain
- Stun Spore

A more fun set, just a staller while being able to switch into some Fighting and Dark moves

Crobat @ Black Sludge
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- U-turn
- Defog
- Cross Poison

A Fast sweeper, with Defog in case

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 224 HP / 252 Def / 32 SpD
Bold Nature
- Protect
- Wish
- Scald
- Heal Bell

And a Wish passer, while being able to take some solid hits

Any help or general tips would be great. Thanks

You have your forretress moveset mixed up. Custap berry is for suicide leads that stack hazards and die. The set you have (physically defensive with volt switch) is meant to be used as a wall, or at least as a defensive pivot. So change the item or change the evs/moveset.

For mamoswine, icicle crash is generally better than stone edge, as the coverage is often redundant between it's dual STAB. Sometmes you need to go for the ice STAB move, and sometimes base 40 power won't be able to cut it.

For whimsicott switch either giga drain or stun spore for substitute.

Crobat is really ackward on your team. You're trying to use offensive with black sludge, which already in itself is a bit strange IMO. But you already have a spinner, and without using a support set I don't really see the benefit of using this on your team over an actually extremely powerful flying type like honchkrow.

I think vaporeon should be specially defensive, to form a bit of a defensive core with forry. As you have no other pokemon to sponge special hits.

Awesome. I'll try these things out and see how successful I am
