Hi all,
So this is my first team in a while, however the updated version (will provide original if it would help- basically Gengar instead of Mew and Haxorus instead of Kyurem-B). Have played around with it over the course of about 2 weeks and have stamped out some obvious weaknesses, however your input and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Kyurem-Black @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 20 Atk / 252 SpA / 236 Spe
Mild Nature
- Ice Beam
- Fusion Bolt
- Earth Power
- Iron Head
Kyurem-black is a bit of a special sweeper. It counters Gyarados well thanks to Fusion Bolt, and counters earth, flying and grass types thanks to Ice Beam. Earth Power is useful against some potentially problematic types like Heatran, especially in late game when some others have fainted. Iron Head is for a bit of variety, and if metagross faints early.
Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Stone Edge
Hippowdon is my wall. It often tanks super effective moves like Giga Drain etc., leaving it time to use Slack Off and live to fight another day. Earthquake provides good STAB, and Stone Edge is a counter to Talonflame, Charizard, Volcorona etc. Stealth a Rock is a good hazard to set,
Metagross @ Metagrossite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rock Polish
- Meteor Mash
- Zen Headbutt
- Hammer Arm
Metagross is my physical sweeper and part time tank. Rock Polish allows him to outspeed many threats, and is also used as recovery after Hammer Arm. Hammer Arm destroys the likes of normal types and other Pokemon I may otherwise have trouble countering. Zen Headbutt counters potentially dangerous fighting types and Meteor Mash gives incredible damage to non resistant Pokemon.
Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Wish
- Heal Bell
- Protect
- Hyper Voice
Sylveon is my resident Cleric, and provides useful fairy type to my team. Wish is useful healing for my other party members. Heal bell is great to heal status problems on my team, especially hippowdon. Protect can stall and defend against high damage moves. Hyper Boice carves through Mega Sableye and co, but can also break walls.
Mew @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 220 SpD / 36 Spe
Careful Nature
- Defog
- Soft-Boiled
- Taunt
- Knock Off
Mew is my defogger, with added functionality. Defog is crucial to allow switching between the other Pokemon in my team. Soft boiled can stall for a bit, and Taunt is useful to ruin spikers. Knock Off can remove items and ruin strategies. It also can kill psychic types with relative ease.
Keldeo @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Hydro Pump
- Icy Wind
Finally, Keldeo is my revenge killer and part time Special Sweeper. It out speeds virtually everyone thanks to Choice Scarf. Can counter Heatran and dark types. Scald is useful for a balance of accuracy and STAB, and the burn chance is useful for the special sweeper part. Hydro Pump is for a risky revenge kill when the target has higher health. Secret Sword provides attacking variety, and Icy Wind checks flying and earth types.
