Hello everyone! I'm still a beginner to competitive play, but I would really like get into Doubles as I don't enjoy Singles that much. I went into Showdown to test this team under the VGC 2015 bracket and came out 4-1. Advice or switches to the team is greatly appreciated for a growing newb like me c: With that said let's get into my team and why I chose these mons.

So first up I have my Mega, Charizard-X.

Charizard-Mega-X @ Charizardite X
Ability: Tough Claws
Level: 50
EVs: 68 HP / 252 Atk / 188 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Dragon Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Protect

I wanted to use Charizard-X because of the massive use of Charizard-Y, this gives me an advantage so to speak as they would be expecting a Heatwave heavy Pokemon and not anticipating the dragon dance set-up. Also my girlfriend loves Charizard-X and I wanted something unique and surprising to bring to the table.

Scrafty

Scrafty @ Assault Vest
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 24 Atk / 164 Def / 68 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Fake Out
- Drain Punch
- Super Fang ---> Snarl
- Knock Off

Scrafty is my Fake-Out Supporter. The Fake-Out start can force them to double Protect the first turn and allow the Charizard to set up the Dragon Dance. Drain Punch is for my re-gen and Mega Kang counter (god I dislike Kang), while Super Fang is there to cut down those big tanks. Knock Off is great for getting rid of Focus Sash's and other items that stand in the way.

DEFENSIVE CALCS:
252 SpA Mega Charizard Y Heat Wave vs. 252 HP / 68 SpD Assault Vest Scrafty in Sun: 58-69 (33.7 - 40.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252 SpA Life Orb Hydreigon Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 68 SpD Assault Vest Scrafty: 78-94 (45.3 - 54.6%) -- 49.6% chance to 2HKO
252 Atk Terrakion Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 164+ Def Scrafty: 144-170 (83.7 - 98.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
-1 252 Atk Parental Bond Mega Kangaskhan Double-Edge vs. 252 HP / 164+ Def Scrafty: 73-87 (42.4 - 50.5%) -- Miniscule chance to 2HKO

Rotom-W

Rotom-Wash @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Levitate
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 44 Def / 212 SpA
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Protect

Rotom-W was a great partner for my Charizard and Scrafty as it can get rid of those pesky Landorus's, and other Rock/Ground Pokemon willing to take a STAB Hydro Pump. Thunderbolt, another STAB and coverage against flying types that want to ruin my day. Overall a very strong Pokemon, and with that will-o-wisp against physical attackers it fits in well.

Togekiss

Togekiss @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 4 SpA / 28 SpD / 60 Spe
Bold Nature
- Air Slash
- Tailwind
- Thunder Wave ---> Follow Me
- Protect

Togekiss is my Tailwind Supporter. Charizard-X really works well with Tailwind, so I figured I needed a tanky Pokemon that can dish out some damage and Togekiss came to mind. Air Slash + Serene Grace makes it a huge threat if not accounted for, and Thunder Wave is just a great move to slow down the fast sweepers.

The HP and Defense EVs allow Togekiss to survive an Iron Head from Life Orb Bisharp and Jolly Mega Metagross. The Speed EVs allow Togekiss to outrun Rotom-W outside of Tailwind and Adamant Choice Scarf Landorus-T under Tailwind.

Excadrill

enter image description here

Excadrill @ Life Orb
Ability: Mold Breaker
Level: 50
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Protect
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide

I love Excadrill. It's very fast and can dish out EQ's beautifully. I decided to go for Mold Breaker because of all the levitates i often see, Cresselia, Rotom-W, Thunderus etc. It is a good check for the Fairy Types, that Char and Scrafty dislike and overall a very strong Pokemon.

Back up Mega, Venusaur.

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
Level: 50
EVs: 220 HP / 76 Def / 60 SpA / 140 SpD / 12 Spe
Bold Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sleep Powder
- Sludge Bomb
- Protect

Venusaur is essentially here for further coverage and a check threats that dislike STAB Sludge Bomb's and Giga Drain's. It also adds the mind game that I'm running Charizard-Y. Sleep Powder although I dislike the move in general, it can really save the game.

DMG CALCS
60 SpA Mega Venusaur Sludge Bomb vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Mega Gardevoir: 102-120 (70.8 - 83.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
60 SpA Mega Venusaur Sludge Bomb vs. 240 HP / 8 SpD Sylveon: 102-122 (51 - 61%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
60 SpA Mega Venusaur Giga Drain vs. 244 HP / 88 SpD Gastrodon: 228-268 (105 - 123.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
60 SpA Mega Venusaur Giga Drain vs. 252 HP / 148+ SpD Rotom-W: 80-96 (50.9 - 61.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Sitrus Berry recovery
60 SpA Mega Venusaur Giga Drain vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Assault Vest Suicune: 66-78 (31.8 - 37.6%) -- 69.9% chance to 3HKO

DEFENSIVE CALCS
252+ Atk Parental Bond Mega Kangaskhan Double-Edge vs. 220 HP / 76+ Def Mega Venusaur: 118-141 (64.4 - 77%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Mega Gardevoir Psychic vs. 220 HP / 140 SpD Mega Venusaur: 152-182 (83 - 99.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Life Orb Talonflame Brave Bird vs. 220 HP / 76+ Def Mega Venusaur: 151-182 (82.5 - 99.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Mega Charizard Y Overheat vs. 220 HP / 140 SpD Thick Fat Mega Venusaur in Sun: 162-192 (88.5 - 104.9%) -- 25% chance to OHKO
144 SpA Cresselia Psychic vs. 220 HP / 140 SpD Mega Venusaur: 74-90 (40.4 - 49.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

So yeah let me know what you guys think of my team, all feedback is appreciated as it will help me learn from my mistakes or decisions. Thanks for taking some time to look at this c: and Happy Battling!

Cool team. Not enough Charizard X these days. I very, very much recommend swapping either Protect or Thunder Wave on Togekiss for Follow Me. Follow Me is very good in VGC, and especially on a Dragon Dance Charizard team. For Scrafty, try Snarl over Super Fang. As an avid Trick Room Scrafty user, I find Super Fang to be very situational and often deadweight, but that might be due to the hyper-offensive nature of Trick Room. Either way, oftentimes whenever I click Super Fang I wish I was clicking Snarl. Snarl makes Venusaur, Rotom and Charizard absolute beasts, and Scrafty is one of the only Pokémon with both Intimidate and Snarl.

And where do you find a girlfriend who likes Pokémon ;~;
Other than Scrafty, your team really doesn't have a way to deal with Trick Room. I agree with Doctor Disco, Follow Me Togekiss would greatly benefit you. Personally, I'd drop Thunder Wave as again you're weak to TR, it's up to you though.

I wanna know as well what all the specified EV spreads do, it'll help us to give more insight as to what you can improve.
Running Aegislash over Excadrill is an option, you keep your Fairy check but also have an Pokémon for handling Trick Room.
@Doctor Disco Follow Me on Togekiss seems to be a great addition to the team, thanks for that :D and Snarl sounds like a good shutdown option to those scary Special Attackers. As for the Girlfriend she came to me fortunately xD
@Srw3 I took several inspirations from other teams/ev spread, such as the Scrafty which is LightcoreVGC's set. The 0 IVs in Speed so that Scrafty is slower than 0 Spe IVs Aegislash - that means our Knock Off will hit Aegislash when it is in Blade form. I should probably add the defensive and dmg cals to the team xD ill do that now
@Doctor Disco I like the Aegislash idea covering Fairy and the dreaded Ghost, but I feel like I will miss out on the Rock Slides and EQ's as they are very common and are a huge threat to most teams. Is there a better alternative or should I just get rid of Excadrill for Aegislash?
