Pheromosa @ Poisonium Z
Ability: Beast Boost
Level: 50
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- High Jump Kick
- U-turn
- Poison Jab
- Protect

I like Pheromosa as z-poison jab deals with the tapus quite nicely. Otherwise, I feel it is fairly standard.

Murkrow @ Eviolite
Ability: Prankster
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 100 Def / 156 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Taunt
- Tailwind
- Foul Play
- Quash

I realize that Murkrow is a very niche mon. However, he's one of my favorites and prankster is a great answer to most drifblim lele leads (since drifblim isn't protected from priority). Murkrow Pheromosa has caught many drif-lele leads off guard. However, i feel that persian or maniduzz are probably safer options.

Arcanine @ Aguav Berry
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Wild Charge
- Extreme Speed
- Protect

Standard set for the attack variant doggo. pairs nicely with Gyarados

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 50
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Ice Fang
- Dragon Dance
- Protect

Again standard. I wanted to add just a bit more survivability instead of damage, hence the leftovers. I could do sitrus as well, but i like the more passive recovery.

Tapu Koko @ Focus Sash
Ability: Electric Surge
Level: 50
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Dazzling Gleam
- Volt Switch
- Protect

standard koko set, good answer to double duck as it allows me to take a hydro vortex from golduck and ohko it with t-bolt.

Muk-Alola @ Figy Berry
Ability: Gluttony
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Poison Jab
- Knock Off
- Shadow Sneak
- Protect

Standard set, again. I wanted something that could perform well under trick room if needed. also a good tapu and mimickyu counter.

so let me know what you guys think! I'm still fairly new to vgc but i'm starting to get the hang of it and my rating is ever so slowly on the rise. Thanks!

You don't seem to have a mega...
wynaut mgyarados?
Gyarados@Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate-->Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Sp Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
Dragon Dance
Rain Dance
Waterfall
<good type coverage move>
I think Murkrow is outclassed by Whimsicott, Arcanine is outclassed by Volcarona, Gyarados is outclassed by Kingdra, and Muk is outclassed by Tyrannitar. However, I have almost no experience in doubles, and the previous sentence came from this statistic: http://www.smogon.com/stats/2017-02/gen7doublesou-1825.txt
As for "Why not mega Gyarados?", the answer is that mega stones are banned.
I don't think any of those mons listed are actuAlly vgc legal this year, except whimsicott. I wanted to be a bit trolley with murkrow though. And yeah, me gas are banned this year as well. Awe well, I don't have much experience with doubles either, that's why I asked for opinions and improvements
Normally I rely on Smogon statistics to rate these teams, but Smogon hasn't recorded anything on VGC2017 because they have some weird issues right now. Sorry for not helping.

It's a well rounded VGC team but a little bit too weak to garchomp on my opinion. I suggest adding bulk to gyarados:
Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 50
EVs: 52 HP / 196 Atk / 76 Def / 4 SpD / 180 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Dragon Dance
- Ice Fang
- Protect
these ev can make gyarados survive a wild charge from arcanine most of the time and can help against some rock slide-flinch from garchomp.
Another mon you are rather weak is marowak-alola. Apart from gyarados you have no other answer to it so be careful and i would change volt switch on koko to a U-turn to garantee a switch if ther is a marowak or you fear a switch in of garchomp. It's a bit too late i read now when you asked, maybe this can be useful for the next competition :3
