Sand teams aren’t really the viable anymore now that weather only lasts for 5 turns.
Sand teams (and rain teams) are still good. It's just that when weather caused by sand stream lasted indefinitely, sand teams were necessary.
Is Greninja with Torrent an accident? Because Protean is 100x better.
The main reason I am using greninja is for a counter to Pokemon who benifit from sand. Torrent is useful to counter the Sp. Def Boost from rock types. Protean might be better, though.
The most common Pokemon that benefits from sand is Tyranitar, which Greninja can easily check without torrent.
Probably a good idea.
I would personally have a second sand setter as if that T-tar dies your screwed
I have been testing this team out, and I need a second sand setter so bad. Could you recommend another sand setter?

Thanks!
